About the exhibition in the State Archive of the Brest Region, dedicated to the Year of Quality

By Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated November 27, 2023 No.375, 2024 was declared the Year of Quality.

The State Archive of the Brest Region has prepared a showcase exhibition of archival documents dedicated to this topic.

The exhibition displays original documents from the archival funds of Brest enterprises: electromechanical and electric lamp factories, a hosiery factory, a production association of the canning and wine industry, a household chemicals plant, a meat processing plant, a garment factory named after E.M. Fomin, a carpet and cloth production association, an outerwear factory and etc.

In particular, documents are presented on the assignment of the State Quality Mark for products (decisions of the State Certification Commission, certificates of registration of products awarded the State Quality Mark, conclusions and technical documentation for products, etc.); plans, information on improving quality and expanding the range of products; documents on holding competitions for the best enterprise in terms of product quality, etc. for the 1970-1980s.

The USSR Quality Mark was introduced in 1967 with the aim of stimulating improvements in the quality and efficiency of public production. Based on the results of state certification of the quality of goods, enterprises received the right to label their products with the State Quality Mark of the USSR for a period of two to three years.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the first deputy head of the main department of justice Yana Stelmashuk, the head of the department of archival institutions, notaries and registry offices Natalya Kralko and archive workers, who highly appreciated the documentary materials presented at the exhibition, their content and diversity.

The fact that such significant and interesting documents are stored in the archive is the merit of previous generations of archivists (and some of them are still working) who did and continue to do their job of completing the archive with documents.
