Meeting with students of the College of Information and Communication Technologies at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus
On February 6, 2024, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, a meeting was held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus with students of the College of Information and Communication Technologies.
The head of the department of personal funds, Inessa Vladimirovna Dorogush, gave a tour of the archive, talked about its history, composition and features of storing documents, the work of the archive in the field of publication and exhibition activities.
As part of the meeting, an exhibition dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Internationalist Soldiers was prepared for students. February, 15 in 1989, the last units of the Limited Contingent of Soviet Forces left the territory of Afghanistan. For Soviet military personnel, the Afghan War ended not in victory or defeat, but in enormous tragedy and unabated pain.
Dorogush I.V. and the leading archivist of the department of personal funds T.I. Brileva familiarized students with the composition of documents, spoke about the work of state and party bodies of the BSSR and the Republic of Belarus, public organizations and associations of the country in solving social issues of internationalist soldiers, as well as perpetuating the memory of their feat in Democratic Republic of Afghanistan in 1979-1989. At the exhibition, students got acquainted with maps of Afghanistan, photographs of Soviet military personnel, representatives of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, the civilian population of the country, and the personal files of internationalist soldiers who were granted personal pensions.
The documents aroused great interest among the children. Dorogush I.V. and Brileva T.I. answered numerous questions.
