Conducting a lesson for 10th grade students as part of the «Archives for School» campaign

As part of the «Archives for School» campaign, the first visitors to the State Archives of the Grodno Region in the new year were students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 32 named after T.G. Larionova, Grodno». For 10th grade students, a lesson was held on the topic «Military history of the city of Grodno during the period of Nazi occupation».

Archive staff showed schoolchildren documentary materials from the German occupation authorities: cards of prisoners of war who were in German camps, work certificates of citizens sent to work in Germany, certificates of ghetto prisoners, workers’ profiles, notices of being called up for work. Students also became acquainted with documents of partisan and underground brigades operating in the Grodno region during the years of Nazi occupation.

The children were given a sightseeing tour of the archive, during which they visited the archive storage facility, where they learned about the conditions for storing documents, their composition and content.
