On the participation of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents» in the opening of the 13th annual scientific conference «Traditions and the current state of culture and the arts»

On September 7, 2023, employees of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Audio Documents» (hereinafter referred to as BGAKFFD) took part in the opening of the 13th annual scientific conference «Traditions and the current state of culture and arts» held at the State Scientific Institution «Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus».

The purpose of the conference was to discuss the role of scientific research in the field of architecture, fine and decorative arts, theater studies, music, photography, cinema, screen arts in solving pressing problems of modern culture; discussion of current problems in the study of ethnocultural traditions, folklore, anthropology; search for systematic approaches to solving pressing problems of preserving national cultures and historical and cultural heritage in the context of globalization.

The organizers of the conference are the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the State Scientific Institution «Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus» (branch «Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore named after K.Krapiva of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus»).

Leading experts from the Republic of Belarus and CIS countries – the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Uzbekistan – took part in the conference.

At the plenary session, a joint report was prepared by the head of the department of state accounting and the scientific and reference apparatus of the BGAKFFD M.D. Romanova. and candidate of art history, associate professor Remishevsky K.I. on the topic «Belarusian dudar duet in film periodicals of 1939: new methods of attribution of archival film documents» and also the leading archivist of the department of state accounting and scientific reference apparatus of BGAKFFD N.A. Petlitskaya took part in the conference.
