On the participation of the chief custodian of the funds A.K.Kot in the International Conference on Film Studies and Archiving in Moscow

The representative of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents», the chief custodian of the funds, Alla Konstantinovna Kot, took part in the II International Conference on Film Studies and Archiving on May 29, 2023 at the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture «The State Film Fund of the Russian Federation».

Speaking at the panel discussion, A.K.Kot told the meeting participants about the various activities of the archive in popularizing archival documents, joint projects with television and the possibilities of using the archive’s audiovisual materials in film distribution. A lively exchange of views took place on the prospects and directions for the development of the archived YouTube channel and social networks, as well as on the joint project with ATN «Open Access».

The participants of the discussion were particularly interested in the initiative of the BGAKFFD and the Pioneer cinema in Minsk to demonstrate archival film documents, as well as the Open Archive project, under which short chronicles were prepared for demonstration in city public transport.

The conference opened up excellent opportunities for participants and guests to learn more about the work of fellow archivists from neighboring countries and became a convenient platform for the exchange of information and experience on the most pressing issues and areas of activity in the field of audiovisual heritage and the activities of the modern archive.
