On March 22, 2022, in the Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation, a young specialist E.V. Shkut gave a lecture on the topic: «Without a statute of limitations: the Khatyn tragedy on March 22, 1943»
On March 22, 2023, as part of the events held in the «Year of Peace and Creation», as well as the implementation of the tasks determined by the board of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus for work with youth, in particular, to create a microclimate in the workforce and support the scientific aspirations of workers, the management The Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation approved and supported the initiative of a young specialist of the institution E.V. Shkut.
Ekaterina Vasilievna prepared and conducted a lecture for archive workers on the topic: «Without a statute of limitations: the Khatyn tragedy on March 22, 1943».
The topic of the lecture was not chosen by chance. The Khatyn tragedy is a historical fact, indisputably proven both by the materials of criminal cases of past years and archival documents, and by the results of the investigation of a modern criminal case on the genocide of the Belarusian people.
The lecturer stressed that the work on the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War should be given a systematic legal assessment. In April 2021, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Belarus initiated a criminal case on the fact of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War and in the post-war period. In 2022, under the leadership of the General Prosecutor’s Office, the 52nd separate specialized search battalion conducted field searches in 25 burial sites of genocide victims. In 2023, it is planned to carry out field searches in 35 such places.
When preparing the lecture, documents of the Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation, the author’s developments and material prepared by the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus were used.
