On March 22, 2023, on the day of the 80th anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy, the Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa held an information hour
At the information hour on the topic “We are faithful to this memory”, which took place during the event of the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 8 of Rechitsa” in memory of the Belarusian village of Khatyn destroyed by the Nazis, archive staff told students 9-11 grades about the genocide of Nazi Germany against peaceful Soviet citizens in the Rechitsa region. Schoolchildren listened attentively to information about the inhumanity and cruelty of the Nazis in Rechitsa and the villages of the region, like Khatyn, completely or partially burned by the occupiers along with the inhabitants. Copies of documents from the funds of the Extraordinary State Commission of the USSR, the Rechitsa city executive committee and the district executive committee (acts, protocols of interrogation of witnesses, photographs, a letter from a concentration camp prisoner, etc.) reflecting the picture of the atrocities of the Nazi invaders and their accomplices were presented. Those present honored the memory of the dead with a minute of silence.
