The students of the Belarusian State Academy of Communications in Vitebsk attended the lecture “The Genocide of the Belarusian People during the Great Patriotic War (1941 – 1945)”

The employees of the State Archives of Vitebsk Region held a lecture “The Genocide of the Belarusian People during the Great Patriotic War (1941 – 1945)” to students of Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian State Academy of Communications.

The students were told that this was a pre-planned genocide plan called “Ost”. It was based on the misanthropic theories of “racial superiority” of the German nation. A whole system of measures was used to implement this plan: punitive operations, concentration camps, death camps, etc.

It was told in detail about the Ozarichi and Krynki camps, whose prisoners were used as “living” chemical weapons. A film “Ozarichi. No Statute of Limitations” was shown.

Attention was focused on the fact that the basis for understanding the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Nazi occupation is provided by the documents of the Extraordinary State Commission on Nazi crimes and damage to citizens, collective farms, public organizations, state enterprises and institutions of the USSR.

The students got acquainted with the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On the Genocide of the Belarusian People”, signed by the President of the Republic of Belarus on January 5, 2022.
