The State Archives of Minsk Region has prepared a virtual collection of documents “Pioneer Camp – a Magic Country of Childhood” for the International Children’s Day – June 1
Every year on the first day of summer we celebrate the International Children’s Day. The main purpose of the holiday is not only to give children joy, fun and laughter, but also to focus public attention on the real problems of children.
After the end of the Great Patriotic War, when the problems of health and well-being of children were especially acute, in 1949 in Paris a women’s congress held a vow to fight for a lasting peace, as the only guarantee of happiness for children. A year later, in 1950, the first International Children’s Day was held on 1 June, and since then this holiday is celebrated annually.
One of the forms of caring for the younger generation is the organization of children’s leisure time, i.e. health camps.
The State Archives of Minsk Region holds documents about the organization of pioneers’ leisure time in pioneer camps. The Archives has prepared a virtual collection of documents “Pioneer Camp – a Magic Country of Childhood” for the International Children’s Day – June 1.
