Employees of the Local State Archives in Orsha visited Secondary School No. 23 in Orsha as part of the Year of Historical Memory and the action “Archives for School”

On 22 March, as part of the Year of Historical Memory and the action “Archives for School”, employees of the Local State Archives in Orsha visited Secondary School No. 23 in Orsha, where they held a lesson of memory “Khatyn. Tragedy and Memory” for 7th-11th grade students.

The students were shown a virtual exhibition marking the 79th anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy. In addition, they got acquainted with the documentary exhibition based on archival documents and photographs, reports of interrogation of witnesses of the tragedy, acts of execution of civilians and prisoners of war by the Nazis, a list of settlements that were destroyed together with the inhabitants and not revived.
