The Belarusian Cinema and Photo Archives took part in a single day of informing students STEP – “School of Active Citizen”

The Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings (BGAKFFD) took part in a single day of informing students STEP – “School of Active Citizen”. The Archive worker M.V. Garelik held a lesson for 9th grade students of High School in Dzerzhinsk on the topic “Pride for Belarus. Inter-confessional and inter-ethnic peace”.

The main idea of the STEP project is to help students become real citizens of their country. In the 2021/2022 academic year, two thematic blocks of classes are held as part of STEP. The “Pride in Belarus” block is dedicated to the country’s achievements since independence in a variety of areas (health care, education, information and communication technologies, etc.). The second block dedicated to the Great Patriotic War is designed to deepen and consolidate the students’ knowledge of the heroic and tragic pages of the past of the Belarusian people.

During the lesson the students learned about religions and confessions in Belarus, the history of the formation of the country as a multi-confessional society and the priorities of the confessional policy of the Republic of Belarus.
