The highest award of archivists – the badge “Honorary Archivist of Belarus” was awarded to the senior researcher at the Belarusian Research Center for Electronic Records Evgeniya Cherkasova
It has become a good tradition to commemorate the professional merits of archivists in Belarus as part of the Archivist’s Day celebrations. On October 6, 2021, at the general meeting of the Belarusian Research Center for Electronic Records, Evgeniya CHERKASOVA, Senior Researcher of the Archival Technologies Automation Department, received the highest award of archivists – the badge “Honorary Archivist of Belarus”.
In his congratulatory speech, Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus Victor KOURASH noted the merits of Evgeniya Cherkasova in the field of automation of the archive industry. She contributed to the development of automation of archival strategy for 2005-2010, developed the principles of harmonization of archival descriptions with the international standard ISAD (G), is the direct developer of the automated information system of state archives (AIS archive) and the consolidated automated system of state archives (AIS consolidated), which ensured the automation of activities and the development of information technologies in the archival bodies and state archival institutions in Belarus. For many years Evgeniya Cherkasova has been improving these systems: automating new processes in the archive activities, optimizing the work of the system software modules and providing their maintenance. In 2020 she participated in creation of new versions of the systems which provided transition to modern information technologies in the work of state archives. At the end of his speech Victor Kourash wished Evgeniya Cherkasova health and new professional success.
