Zonal State Archives in Glubokoe

Historical background

The Archives was established in March 1941 as the Glubokoe Interdistrict Archives.

During the German occupation in 1941-1944 the activity of the Archives was temporarily stopped.

The State Archives of Glubokoe District renewed its work after the liberation of the Glubokoe district in July 1944.

In November 1963, the Branch of the State Archives of Vitebsk Region was established in the town of Glubokoe. The documents of the Begoml, Braslav, Vidzy, Glubokoe, Disna, Dokshitsa, Dunilovichi, Miory, Postavy, Plisa and Sharkovichi districts were concentrated here.

In May 1996, the Archives received its present name of the Zonal State Archives in Glubokoe.
