Historical background

The Belarusian Research Center for Electronic Records (BelNITsED) was established in accordance with the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No 1465 of September 18, 1998.

On November 30, 2000, BelNITsED was entered on the Unified State Register of Legal Entities under the name of the Belarusian Research Center for Electronic Records.

From January 1, 2025, the State Institution «Belarusian Research Center for Electronic Documentation», in pursuance of the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated July 26, 2024 No.545 «Issues of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus» and on the basis of the order of the Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus O.L.Voinov dated September 17, 2024 No.43, was renamed the State Institution «Belarusian Center for Digitalization of Archival Activities» (BelCAAD).
