The State Archives of Brest Region has produced a Guide to its Holdings 1939-2014

The directory includes a list of contents, introduction, list of abbreviations, main part, list of fonds (record groups), a summary of administrative and territorial division.

The main part contains descriptions of fonds classified in 23 sections by branch and sub-sections by the activity of a record creating institution. The separate sections describe records created by the authorities, institutions and enterprises in the period of 1939-1941 and records of the German occupation period of 1941-1944.

The description of a fond includes a fond title, reference data (fond number, amount of files, inclusive dates), a short history of a record creator, record annotations.
