Ceremonial Meeting at the State Archive of the Gomel Region Marking Archivist’s Day

On October 6, 2026, the staff of the State Archive of the Gomel Region held a ceremonial meeting to mark their professional holiday — Archivist’s Day.

Yuri Shestopalov, Director of the State Archive of the Gomel Region, together with Svetlana Primakova, Chair of the archive’s primary trade union organization, congratulated the staff on the occasion. As a pleasant surprise to open the event, a congratulatory message was shared from Oleg Voinov, Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management.

Yuri Shestopalov’s address highlighted the undeniable importance of archival work and the demanding nature of the archivist’s profession. In a formal ceremony recognizing their achievements, outstanding staff members — Elena Gorbik, Tatyana Burtseva, and Olga Shurovskaya — were awarded certificates of merit, while Olga Toplenkina and Ekaterina Kacheva received formal commendations.
