A Useful Summer – A Lesson and Introductory Tour for Students of Secondary School No.21 in Mogilev at the State Archives of the Mogilev Region
Eleventh-grade students from Secondary School No.21 in Mogilev, Matvey Adakimchik and Bogdan Danilenko, are searching for documents for their research project on «Life in Territories Occupied by the Nazis from 1941 to 1944» in the reading room of the State Archives of the Mogilev Region.
As part of the national «Archives for Schools» campaign and the «Young Archivist» pilot project, archive staff gave the students an introductory tour, during which they visited the archive storage facility, the document digitization section, and viewed the permanent exhibition of the most interesting archival documents. During the lesson, novice researchers learned how to search for information using a thematic catalog, which allowed them to identify a larger number of documents on the topic under study.
The lesson and excursion were highly practical, allowing students to learn more about the archivist profession and develop skills in searching for archival documents.
