Informal briefing: Ahead of the Unified State Archives (EDI) dedicated to life safety, Molodechno archivists took part in the OSVOD campaign

As part of the republican preventative campaign «When Relaxing by the Water, Remember That You Are a Parent!», the staff of the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno met with Anatoly Petyushik, Chairman of the OSVOD District Organization.

It would seem that the campaign’s slogan is primarily aimed at mothers and fathers. However, those present clearly understand that every archival employee is not only a professional working with documents but also a caring parent and grandparent. This is why the discussion about child safety, rules of conduct on water bodies, and parental responsibility was particularly poignant. Anatoly Petyushik reminded the archivists of the immutable safety rules and emphasized that children must never be lost sight of near water.

The guest shared republican statistics, which, unfortunately, remain alarming: water does not forgive carelessness. However, compared to the national situation, there is also cause for pride: there have been no water-related fatalities in the Molodechno District this swimming season.

Nevertheless, it’s too early to relax. The Chairman of the District Department of Water Rescue and Development cited examples of recent drowning rescues in our district, where the vigilance and competent actions of bystanders helped avert tragedy.

Anatoly Petyushik also reminded those present of five officially designated and safe swimming areas in the district. The development of another beach on the picturesque bank of the Usha River is already in the offing.

This meeting was important for more than just a formal briefing. These are ordinary people sitting at the archive desks. After finishing their shift, heading off for the weekend to their dacha, fishing, or simply deciding to take a dip with their family, they, like everyone else, can encounter everyday risks in the water. Water doesn’t respect profession, experience, or education, and it doesn’t spare those who let their guard down. The meeting’s main message was simple and vital: take care of yourself and your loved ones. May the history so carefully preserved by archivists be filled with only positive events, and may the summer bring the joy of a safe and healthy vacation! And may the weather be kind!
