A meeting with writer N.Ya.Galperovich at the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (BSAMLI)

On June 30, 2026, a creative meeting with renowned poet and prose writer, Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Belarus Naum Galperovich was held at the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI). The topic of the discussion was the writer’s book «Red Bridge» (2025).
The event was attended by students from the history and philology departments of BSU, faculty, linguists, writers, as well as cultural and artistic figures. Fellow countrymen, colleagues, and friends of Naum Yakovlevich addressed the audience.
I.L.Kopylov, Director of the Yakub Kolas Institute of Linguistics, drew attention to the artistic features of «Red Bridge» and emphasized the work’s importance in the education and spiritual strengthening of Belarusian society. Linguist and literary critic Yu.V.Patsyupa outlined the stylistic characteristics of N.Ya.Galperovich’s entire body of work, emphasizing the lyricism of his poetry and prose, and drawing attention to the sense of luminous contemplation that permeates his book «The Red Bridge».
N.Ya.Galperovich’s poems, recited during the event by the author himself, as well as by schoolchildren, students, and staff members of the Belarusian State Academy of Literature and Art (BSAMLI), as well as excerpts from «The Red Bridge» read by the evening’s host, N.A.Mizon, became a kind of tuning fork for the conversation with the writer, initiating an active dialogue between those present and him.
During the conversation, Naum Yakovlevich addressed many of those present by name, which touched and emotionally inspired the audience. His sincere story about his hometown of Polotsk, friends, and relatives, as well as Galperovich’s subtle humor and skill as a conversationalist, evoked a strong response from the audience and gratitude for the time spent within the walls of the BGAMLI.
