Meeting of Archive Staff with the Daughter of an Archive Veteran in Lida

The Zonal State Archive in Lida has a long-standing tradition of maintaining warm, friendly relationships with archival veterans and their families. In April 2026, Lyudmila Stukalova, daughter of archival service veteran Irina Stanislavovna Stukalova, visited the archive. In the Year of Belarusian Women, we would like to remember those who were at the very origins of the Lida region’s archival system.

I.S. Stukalova worked as a custodian of the Document Preservation and National Archives Department for 36 long years—from March 21, 1968, to March 31, 2004. This is more than just a period of service—it is a lifetime dedicated to preserving the documentary heritage of the Niemen region. Irina Stanislavovna began her professional career in a one-story archive building with stove heating and wooden shelving, staffed by just four people. She made a significant contribution to the establishment and development of archival affairs in the Lida region.

By decision of the general meeting of archive staff, Irina Stanislavovna was inscribed in the Book of Honor of the Zonal State Archives in Lida for her significant contribution to preserving the region’s historical and documentary heritage.
