Tour of the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (BSAMLI) as part of the «Archives for School» campaign

 

On April 15, 2026, as part of the national «Archives for School» campaign, the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BSAMLI) hosted students from Minsk Gymnasium No.17.

Visitors were given a specialized tour aimed at introducing them to the unique collections of the archive-museum, which house the documentary legacy of prominent figures in Belarusian literature and art. V.V.Birulya, Head of the Information, Publication, and Document Use Department at BSAMLI, introduced the guests to the archive’s history, its main activities, and its most valuable exhibits. The students learned about working with archival documents, as well as methods for processing and preserving them.

Leading archivist T.A.Anpilogova spoke about the life and work of renowned artist and Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, Boris Arakcheyev, whose paintings are featured in the exhibition «Mountain Roads. Caucasus», on display in the archive-museum’s reading room.

The «Archives for School» campaign is an important part of the BGAMLI’s activities, aimed at raising young people’s interest in the history and culture of Belarus.
