Thematic Event at the Zonal State Archives in Lida on the Topic of «Investigation of the Criminal Case of the Genocide of the Belarusian People during the Great Patriotic War and the Postwar Period»

On February 6, 2026, the Zonal State Archives in Lida hosted a thematic event featuring Daniil Olegovich Karpovich, Assistant Prosecutor of the Lida District, on the topic of «Investigation of the Criminal Case of the Genocide of the Belarusian People during the Great Patriotic War and the Postwar Period».

In his speech to the archive’s staff, D.O. Karpovich said: «The criminal case under investigation on the genocide of the Belarusian people is not just a legal process, but an important step toward restoring historical justice and fulfilling our duty to the memory of the victims of Nazism». The Assistant Prosecutor provided a detailed account of the criminal investigation and shared new facts about the genocide. Key aspects of the ongoing work aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the tragic events, perpetuating the memory of the victims, and holding those responsible accountable were discussed.
