Joint project of BGAMLI and the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan
As part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Writers’ Unions of Belarus and Kazakhstan, in December 2024, a joint project of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) with the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan «Born in War and Tselena (Collection of archival documents, articles, translations, comments) / compiled by L. Shashkova» was published.
This collection contains materials on Belarusian-Kazakh literary ties from 1936 to the present day (including during the Great Patriotic War). The documents of the Union of Writers of the BSSR, M. Tank, N.Khvedorovich, A.Osipenko, N.Kislik, A.Lis and others were identified and presented for publication in the funds of the BGAMLI. Among them are the reports of Adii Sharipov and Takhavi Akhtanov at the creative meeting of writers and critics of the Union of Writers of the BSSR in Minsk «The Immortal Feat of the People in the Great Patriotic War and Soviet Literature»; the poems of Abai Kunanbaev «Winter» and Dzhambul Dzhabaev «Kalykhanka» translated from Kazakh by Maxim Tank, Ilyas Dzhansugurov «Pryvitanne» translated from Kazakh by Petr Glebka; letters of Bekkhozhin Khalizhan and Sagingali Seitov to Maxim Tank; poems by Maxim Tank translated into Kazakh by Sagingali Seitov, etc. The creation of a joint project «Born by War and the Virgin (Collection of Archival Documents, Articles, Translations, Comments)» will contribute to the deepening of friendly ties between the two countries in the field of culture and literature.
