On the participation of the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» in the republican seminar «Book and Reading as a Spiritual Heritage of Orthodoxy in the Culture and History of the Belarusian People»

On December 12, 2024, the educational institution «Mogilev State Regional Institute for Education Development» held a republican online-offline seminar on the topic «Book and Reading as a Spiritual Heritage of Orthodoxy in the Culture and History of the Belarusian People».

The participants were librarians of secondary and vocational educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus, librarians of diocesan and parish libraries, students of the Educational Institution «Mogilev State College of Arts» (specialty «Library Science»).

The organizers were the Spiritual and Educational Center named after St.George Konissky and the educational institution «Mogilev State Regional Institute for Education Development».

The leading archivist of the department of scientific use of documents and information of the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» Alexander Petukhov took part in the seminar.

He made a report on the topic: «The history of the libraries of the Mogilev region – evidence of the destruction of the culture of the Belarusian people by the fascists».
