A lesson within the framework of the pilot project «Young Archivist» in the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region»

As part of the republican campaign «Archives for School», the pilot project «Young Archivist» and the cooperation agreement between the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» and the educational institution «Mogilev State College of Arts», a lesson was held with 2nd-year students on December 12, 2024.

During the lesson, the children got acquainted with the features of the restoration of archival documents. Then they went on a sightseeing tour of the archive storage and the laboratory for digitizing documents.

In the reading room of the archive, the guests were shown the material «Developing Belarus. United Belarus», prepared by the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus and dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the presidency.

The students were also presented with a banner exhibition «Let’s look back at the past again», dedicated to the defense, the period of occupation and the liberation of Mogilev from the Nazi invaders. The photographs and archival documents displayed at the exhibition aroused genuine interest among the young archivists.
