Participation of the State Archives of the Mogilev Region Institution in the 10th Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation «History of Medicine in Collections of Archives, Libraries and Museums»
On December 12, 2024, the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education «Volgograd State Medical University» hosted the 10th Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation «History of Medicine in Collections of Archives, Libraries and Museums», dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Academician N.A.Semashko.
Researchers from the Russian Federation, Belarus and Uzbekistan participated in the conference.
Archival institutions were represented at the conference by the archivist 1st qualification category of the department of scientific use of documents and information Alexey Shvyrev, who spoke remotely at a meeting of the section «Medicine on the eve and during the Great Patriotic War. Features of the development of the Soviet health care system» with a report «Documents of the Mogilev City Hospital during the occupation period as a source for studying the history of the Great Patriotic War».
The conference featured reports on the history of medicine on the eve of and during the Great Patriotic War, and the specifics of the development of the Soviet healthcare system. The outcome was an exchange of scientifically significant information and familiarization with new research in the field of the history of medicine. Particular attention was paid to the search, interpretation, and introduction of new, previously unpublished sources into scientific circulation.
The participation of archivists in such events allows presenting archival documents to the medical scientific community.
