The Central Laboratory popularizes the profession of an archivist at a congress held by the «Guild of Fathers»

In the era of dynamic technological development and changing social values, the issue of career guidance and strengthening human resources is becoming more relevant than ever. In this context, the management of the Central Laboratory for Document Preservation of the National Archival Fund pays special attention to popularizing the profession of an archivist among students – a profession that often remains in the shadows, but plays a key role in preserving the historical and cultural memory of our society.

One of the effective tools for popularizing our profession is participation in events of various formats held for students in Minsk.

The congress «Father as a support of a traditional family» held on October 21, 2024 by the public association «Guild of Fathers» at the Faculty of Journalism of the Belarusian State University for high school students of Minsk and their parents was no exception. The head of the department of digitization and microfilming of documents of the Central Laboratory Vyacheslav Ivanovich Kulak was invited to the congress as a member of the jury of the exhibition-competition «I will draw my family tree».

Summing up the results of the exhibition-competition, Vyacheslav Ivanovich introduced the participants to the specifics of the work of the Central Laboratory, and also emphasized the importance of the work of archivists and their contribution to the preservation of historical memory, which aroused genuine interest. In turn, the students – winners of the competition, together with their parents and organizers, were invited to the Central Laboratory for an introductory tour.
