«Plan of the city of Mogilev 1936»

February 16 marked the 85th anniversary of the founding of Mogilevgrazhdanproekt OJSC. In the institution «State Archive of the Mogilev Region» the fund of the organization is stored. It includes documents on current activities: orders of the head of the department for architecture under the Council of Ministers of the BSSR, planned tasks for drafting projects, reports on the implementation of plans, memorandums and more.

The fund also includes unique materials on the history of Mogilev in the 1930s – plans and schemes for the construction of the regional center, which in those years claimed the status of the capital of the republic. Large-scale maps allow contemporaries to imagine what Mogilev was then, and how the architects saw its future.

The fund also contains documents related to the planning and construction of individual urban facilities: factories and factories, educational and health institutions, residential buildings.

As an example, we present the «Plan of the city of Mogilev in 1936», containing information about the boundaries of the city’s electoral districts, the location of organizations and institutions.
