Opening of exhibition “The Local State Archives in Lida – Preserver of Documentary Heritage in the Region” on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Archival Service of the Republic of Belarus

On 6 September 2022, the Local State Archives in Lida hosted the opening of the exhibition “The Local State Archives in Lida – Preserver of Documentary Heritage in the Region” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Archival Service of the Republic of Belarus. The first visitors to the exhibition were the students of the Lida State Music College who learned about the history of the archival service of the Republic of Belarus, the state archives in Lida, the main fields of activity, information on the collections and documents held by the archives. They attended the master class “The school of the beginner archivist” where together with the archive staff they tried to carry out the appraisal and scientific-technical processing of documents. They also had an excursion to the archives, learned about the conditions of records preservation and acquainted with the documents of Lida Musical College. Information about the use of the archive documents and finding biographical and genealogical information aroused lively interest.
