The delegation of Belarus Archives and Records Authorities on business trip to Bratislava, Slovak Republic

The delegation of Belarus Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry, including Director of the Department Victor Kourash and Director of the National Archives Andrey Demyanyuk, made a business trip to Bratislava, Slovak Republic, on 9-10 April 2019. The delegation took part in the presentation of the exhibition “The Slovaks in the Partisan movement in Belarus in 1941-1944”, prepared with the participation of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus. The exhibition is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the 75th anniversary of the National Slovak Uprising. During the event the Director Victor Kourash told the participants about the scale of the Partisan movement in Belarus and the contribution of Belarusian partisans to the victory over the Nazism.

The business trip included meetings with the senior staff of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Interior Ministry of Slovakia, the Slovak National Archives and the Institute of Military History in Bratislava.

During the official meeting between the Director of the Belarusian Archives and Records Authorities Victor Kourash and Director of the Slovak Archives and Records Authorities Maria Mrizova, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation between Belarusian and Slovak archivists. The Belarusian side proposed a draft of the Memorandum of Cooperation for consideration by the Slovak colleagues.
