The National Archives and the publishing house Belarus Segodnya signed an agreement for the creation of the web portal “Partisans of Belarus”
On 5 October 2018 the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus and the publishing house Belarus Segodnya signed an agreement for the creation of the web portal “Partisans of Belarus”.
This information resource will include personal data on WWII partisans and resistance fighters, a brief history and interactive maps of combat operations. The main information will be taken from an extensive name catalogue of members of Partisan and Resistance movement in Belarus during the Second World War, comprising about 400,000 registration cards, which is available at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus.
The project participants are the Belarusian State University, the History Institute of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences, Maksim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University, and other interested parties.
The agreement was signed by the Director of the National Archives A. DEMYANYUK and Chief Editor of the newspaper Belarus Segodnya, Head of the publishing house Belarus Segodnya D. ZHUK.
The Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry V. KOURASH took part at the ceremony of signing the agreement.
