The Belarusian Archives-Museum of Literature and Art offers an exhibition dedicated to 95th anniversary of historian and writer Mikola ERMALOVICH
On 12 May the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art opened an exhibition dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of historian and writer Mikola ERMALOVICH (1921 – 2000).
The exhibition is prepared by the archive’s leading researcher Viktar Zhibul and shows fragments from Ermalovich’s manuscrips, many photographs and documents related to his work and life.
The archive’s director Ganna Zapartyka told of Ermalovich’s life and the history of creation of his personal fonds, which numbers 325 files (1,914 documents) basically for 1922-2000 years. A literary critic and historian, professor Adam Maldzis shared his recollections of M. Ermalovich and donated to the museum a part of his collection of photographs portraying the figures in literature and art, and a capsule with the soil from the burial ground of the 19th century writer Yan Barshcheuski. A scholar and journalist Anatol Astapenka, the author of the book about Mikola Ermalovich, told of his relationships with the famous historian and their joint participation in the social and political life of the country.
