BelNIIDAD issued new Retention Schedule for records of government agencies, institutions and physical entities

The Belarusian Research Institute of Records Management and Archival Studies (BelNIIDAD) issued a new edition of the Retention Schedule for standard records of government agencies, institutions and individual entrepreneurs.

The Schedule defines a period of retention for records created by government agencies, institutions and physical entities and is mandatory for use in all institutions and organizations in the Republic of Belarus. The Schedule is used in preparing classification schemes and file plans, appraisal of records, formation and description of records, acquisition of archives, processing of archival inventories etc.

The new edition includes changes and amendments adopted by the resolutions of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus No. 116 of 20 May 2014 and No. 242 of 12 December 2014. The Schedule is attached with an index to record types and names and scholarly comments on its use.
