Workshop Records and Archives Management in State Institutions of Education, Soligorsk

On 13 February 2014 a practice oriented workshop was held in Soligorsk, Minsk Region on Records and Archives Management in State Institutions of Education.

The workshop was organized jointly by the education, sports and tourism division of the Soligorsk District Executive Committee and the Belarusian Research Institute of Records Management and Archival Studies (BelNIIDAD).

80 people attended the workshop: chiefs, secretaries and records managers at the institutions of secondary, preschool and special education, physical education and sports and other concerned persons. The lectures were delivered by BelNIIDAD’s director A. Rybakov, the chief of records management and the formation of National Archival Holdings at the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry L. Tsymbal, the expert consultant at BelNIIDAD E. Davydova.

The workshop discussed a broad range of issues: rules for creation of records, requirements to records circulation, registration and audit trailing, procedures for records appraisal, the specifics of using records retention schedules in the institutions of education, approaches to archival preservation of records.
