On the basis of archival sources stored in the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region, an article was prepared for the Day of the October Revolution

On November 6, 2026, the issue of the regional newspaper «Vitebskie vesti» dedicated to the Day of the October Revolution was published.

The article is based on information from the unique publication «Red was: Bolsheviks in Vitebsk», which is stored in the State Archives of the Vitebsk region. This is a historical collection of articles, materials and memoirs, published in Vitebsk in 1923 by the Vitebsk Provincial Bureau of Eastport.

Sergei Lyashuk’s article «Red Was in Vitebsk» describes in detail the events of 1917 and the history of the establishment of Soviet power in the city.
