«Archives for Schools» Initiative: A Tour of the Rechitsa State Archive for Students from Secondary School No.10 in Rechitsa
On November 2, 2026, as part of the nationwide «Archives for Schools» initiative and during the autumn school break, students from Secondary School No.10 in Rechitsa visited the Zonal State Archive in Rechitsa.
An educational tour was organized for the students. Archivists shared the history of the institution and highlighted significant archival documents—including government decisions on the establishment of enterprises, organizations, and monuments, the naming of urban landmarks, and letters written by participants of the Great Patriotic War to their families. The students also learned about how the archive serves the public, explored materials from the archive’s reference library, and viewed a permanent exhibition dedicated to the Honored Worker of Arts of Belarus, Tatyana Lopatina, organized to mark the 135th anniversary of her birth.
In anticipation of the 63rd anniversary of the liberation of Rechitsa from Nazi invaders (November 18), a film screening and discussion session was held for the young guests, featuring the documentary «Liberation», produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photograph, and Sound Documents.
