Stylish Hats Adorned with Cornflowers: Zhlobin State Archive Employee’s Creative Work Recognized at Regional Festival
On October 30, 2026, the Gomel Region hosted the conclusion of the regional stage of the «In the Name of Women: Quality in Everything» national arts festival, organized by the Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of State and Other Institutions. Thirty members of the trade union took part in the competition.
Oksana Nikolayevna Pavlyukova, Head of the Department for Documentation Records, Preservation, and Utilization at the Zonal State Archive in Zhlobin, represented her institution with distinction. The jury awarded her a «Laureate» diploma. For the decorative and applied arts exhibition, she presented a unique, original collection of delicate, hand-knitted cotton hats.
She was inspired to enter the competition by her twin sister, Olga Nikolayevna Kancher — a three-time participant in the event. Representing the Zhlobin District Archive, Olga Nikolayevna won in the «Masterpiece of Diligence» category with a collection of items designed for mothers and children.
The participants’ work clearly reflected a deep love for their homeland and a commitment to folk traditions; the key decorative elements on Oksana Nikolayevna’s intricate hats were hand-knitted cornflowers and stalks of grain.
Her colleagues at the Zonal State Archive in Zhlobin offer their sincere congratulations to Oksana Nikolayevna on this well-deserved honor and wish her continued success in her creative and professional endeavors!
