«Prominent Figures of Belarus: Viktor Ivanovich Nosov» – Staff at the Zonal State Archive in Molodechno have created a virtual exhibition about this notable local figure

Archivists at the Zonal State Archive in Molodechno have prepared a virtual exhibition dedicated to Viktor Ivanovich Nosov — a poet, journalist, war veteran, and tireless educator whose life stands as an example of selfless devotion to the written word, his homeland, and his fellow human beings. His legacy continues to inspire new generations, serving as a reminder of the heroic deeds of those who defended peace and built a new life.

Viktor Ivanovich Nosov was born into a peasant family in the village of Bolshoye Larionovo, in the Gorky region. His deep connection to the land and to ordinary people formed the foundation of his creative work.

In 1938, Viktor Nosov was conscripted into the Red Army, where he served as a radio operator-gunner in a long-range bomber regiment. His military service and professional achievements were recognized with high state honors, including the Order of the Patriotic War (1st Class), the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, as well as various medals and certificates of honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Byelorussian SSR.

In the post-war years, Viktor Ivanovich held several key positions in the cultural sphere: he headed the cultural and mass-events department of the regional committee of the Komsomol (LKSMB), served as director of the House of Folk Art in Grodno and the Minsk Regional Museum of Local Lore in Molodechno, and held a leadership role within the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, among other positions.

A significant aspect of his life was his extensive work in public education and outreach. Viktor Nosov was a tireless speaker, frequently addressing audiences at workplaces, educational institutions, and residential facilities, and hosting dozens of evenings dedicated to his own literary and cultural work. Viktor Ivanovich’s creative legacy includes long-form poems, books of social and political commentary, screenplays, and dozens of posters. His verses—imbued with themes of the homeland, peace, and feats of valor and labor—have been performed by the folk ensembles «Spadchyna» and «Belarusachka».
