Successful Evacuation Drill at the National Historical Archives of Belarus

On September 24, 2026, a practical emergency response drill took place at the National Historical Archives of Belarus. The exercise was conducted jointly with the staff of the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Affairs, which shares the same building with the archives.

The evacuation drill served as a follow-up to training sessions held the previous day as part of the Unified Safety Day. The primary goal of the exercise was to reinforce theoretical knowledge and to test readiness for a rapid, coordinated evacuation.

During the drill, employees from both institutions successfully practiced their response to an alarm signal, the prompt exit from offices and storage areas following approved routes, and coordination procedures prior to the arrival of Ministry of Emergency Situations rescue teams.

Thanks to a high level of discipline and strict adherence to protocols, the staff of the National Historical Archives of Belarus and BelNIIDAD demonstrated excellent readiness to minimize risks and act in a coordinated manner during a potential emergency.
