BGAMLI at the National Unity Day Celebration
On September 17, 2026, a celebratory event dedicated to National Unity Day took place at the Pobeda Cinema in Minsk. It was organized by the Kinovideoprokat Unitary Enterprise of the Minsk City Executive Committee in partnership with the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter BGAMLI). A highlight of the event was the screening of the first Belarusian feature film, «Forest Story» (1926). BGAMLI presented a virtual exhibition of archival documents dedicated to the film’s creators—directors Yuri Tarich (1885–1967) and Vladimir Korsh-Sablin (1900–1974).
In her opening remarks, Yu.N.Sermyazhko, Director of the Pobeda Cinema, highlighted the importance of celebrating National Unity Day and noted the significant contribution the country’s archives make to the historical education of citizens. D.S.Samokhvalov, a leading researcher at BGAMLI, spoke about the history of the film «Forest Story» and the lives of its creators, and answered numerous questions from the audience.
