«Unified Information Day» Held at the State Archive of the Minsk Region

On September 17, 2026—National Unity Day—a «Unified Information Day» event took place at the State Archive of the Minsk Region. As part of the commemorative activities, a thematic presentation titled «National Unity Day as a Factor of National Pride» was delivered to the staff.

The event featured a guest speaker, Darya Sergeyevna Pyzh—an MA in History and a researcher at the Department of Modern History of Belarus within the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

During the meeting, Darya Sergeyevna provided a detailed overview of the historical background and the momentous significance of the events of September 17, 1939, which led to the reunification of the artificially divided Belarusian people within a single state. Drawing on the presentation materials, the expert emphasized that the national unity achieved then serves today as a reliable shield for the sovereignty, independence, and stable development of the Republic of Belarus.

The staff of the State Archive of the Minsk Region actively participated in the discussion. The archivists agreed that preserving authentic historical documents is a crucial tool for safeguarding historical truth and countering any attempts to falsify the past.

The event concluded with an open exchange of views, during which archive staff had the opportunity to ask the speaker questions about the latest research conducted by domestic historians.
