Virtual Document Exhibition «Arlyanyaty: Millions of Young Pioneers in the Fireplace» by the Vitebsk Region State Archives

The Vitebsk Region State Archives has prepared a virtual document exhibition «Arlyanyaty: Millions of Young Pioneers in the Fireplace», dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.

In 1975, the newspaper «Vitebsk Workers» published stories about pioneers and schoolchildren from the Vitebsk region who participated in the Great Patriotic War. The materials about these young heroes were collected thanks to N.I.Dorofeenko, with the assistance of employees of the regional Komsomol committee, the regional museum of local history, the regional Palace of Pioneers, the Orsha City House of Pioneers, the Rossony Museum, and the newspaper’s editorial staff, collaborated.

The stories in the newspaper not only recounted the military exploits of young war veterans but also provided brief biographical information.

The third exhibition in the «Arlyanyata» series features articles about young patriots of the Vitebsk region, published in the «Vitebsk Workers» newspaper in 1975, 1977, and 1978.
