Young archivists of the NIA of Belarus touched living history at the opening of the exhibition «Remember 1941»
June 19, 2026 was a special day for young archivists of the National Historical Archive of Belarus. Angelina Latysheva, Alina Shkarina, Anna Eremenok and Elizaveta Matylevich visited the opening of the temporary exhibition «Remember 1941», which took place in the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. For girls whose vocation is to preserve the past, this exhibition became a real immersion in one of the most formidable pages of our history.
The exhibition transports the audience to the tragic but heroic summer of 1941. She tells about the last peaceful minutes, which were suddenly interrupted by the war, and about the first, most difficult times of the defense of the Belarusian land.
In front of the guests, the destinies of ordinary people who were the first to stand in the way of the enemy come to life. Unique documents, yellowed front letters, rare photographs and personal belongings of defenders of the Motherland. Each exhibit here is a silent but powerful witness of courage and resilience.
The exhibition is designed to remind of the sacred feat of Soviet soldiers and civilians who took the blow of fascist Germany, and to show the young generation at what a great price a peaceful life was won.
This visit was an important professional and personal event for the young employees of the archive. Specialists who work with archival documents every day understand how important it is to preserve the historical heritage of our country. Such events help preserve the living connection between generations and do not forget about the shadow of peace.
