«Archives for School»: An Archive as a Time Machine

As part of International Archives Week and the «Archives for School» national campaign, students from the «Bogatyr» school recreation camp at the Bogatyrskaya Basic School in the Polotsk District visited the Zonal State Archive in Polotsk.

The archival lesson, «An Archive as a Time Machine», organized for them, aimed to introduce the participants to the concept of an archive, its importance and role in preserving history, and to demonstrate how archival documents allow them to «travel» into the past.

During the archive tours, the students visited the archive storage facility, where they were shown how valuable historical materials are carefully preserved and organized.
