A Creative Meeting of Generations: Renowned Belarusian writer Vladimir Lipsky met with high school students at the State Archives of the Minsk Region.
A creative meeting with an iconic figure in Belarusian children’s literature, writer and laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Stepanovich Lipsky, was held at the State Archives of the Minsk Region. Students from Minsk’s Gymnasium No.14 were honored guests of the event.
The meeting took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere. Vladimir Lipsky spoke sincerely and engagingly to the students about his life and his many years as editor-in-chief of the legendary children’s magazine «Vyasyolka». Presenting his works, the author shared an important secret of his creative work: each of his works is not fiction, but real stories. It was his own children and grandchildren who became the prototypes, inspirations, and protagonists of his books.
A special place in the conversation was taken by the writer’s touching story about his family. Vladimir Stepanovich shared memories of his beloved wife, Nina, with whom he had lived happily for 65 years. After his beloved wife’s death, the author wrote the book «Nina» in her memory. It’s worth noting that this book became a family endeavor: its pages contain the memories not only of the author himself, but also of his children, grandchildren, relatives, and close friends, colleagues, and neighbors. This story of love and loyalty became a true lesson in family values for the students.
At the end of the meeting, Vladimir Stepanovich presented the guests with his new books, personally autographed. Such meetings help the younger generation gain a deeper understanding of Belarus’s cultural heritage and learn the living wisdom of its masters.
