«Young Archivist»: A Lesson in Courage and Patriotism at the Peresvyatovskaya Basic School in the Rechitsa District, Dedicated to Victory Day
On May 14, 2026, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign and the «Young Archivist» pilot project, staff from the Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa held a lesson on «War Letters» at the Peresvyatovskaya Basic School in the Rechitsa District. Students were informed about letters from the Great Patriotic War, which are stored in the archive and serve as evidence of both tragic and happy events and human destinies.
This was followed by a screening of the documentary «Hero Fortress», produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents. This film taught students about the chronology of the defense of the Brest Fortress in 1941 and the courage and heroism of its defenders.
In conclusion, the Rechitsa State Archives staff thanked the students of the Peresvyatovskaya School for their attention and participation in the «Young Archivist» project, which provided the children with useful information about the honorable work of archivists and archival documents.
