Information Hours «About the Heroes of the Brest Fortress» as Part of the «Archives to School» Project

As part of the «Archives to School» project, information hours «About the Heroes of the Brest Fortress» were held in Polotsk to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the defense of the Brest Fortress. These events, organized to perpetuate the memory of the heroic deeds of Soviet soldiers, took place at several educational institutions in the city, reaching a wide audience of schoolchildren and students.

Responsibilities of the Zonal State Archives in Polotsk included visits to I.E.Alekseyev Basic School No.12 in Polotsk, M.S.Grinevich Secondary School No.14 in Polotsk, Polotsk State Forestry College, and Polotsk State Gymnasium No.2.

The central element of each information hour was a screening of the documentary film «Hero Fortress». This film, produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents, vividly and movingly depicts the courage and fortitude of the defenders of the Brest Fortress, who became a symbol of unbending will and self-sacrifice.
