BGAMLI in Multi-Vector Research of the Literary Process
On April 16, 2026, Dmitry Sergeevich Samokhvalov, Leading Researcher of the Department of Information, Publication, and Use of Documents at the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI), took part in the International Scientific Conference «The Belarusian Literary Process: Traditions and Modernity», a scientific forum dedicated to a significant date – the 95th anniversary of the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literary Studies (a branch of the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language, and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus).
The report «Documentary decline of I.P.Shamyakin and I.P.Melezh in the collections of the Belarusian Archive-Museum of Literature and Art» was presented at the section «Differences in the history of literature and literature» pratsesu». Along with him, the section featured presentations by renowned Belarusian philologists Tatyana Ivanovna Vabishevich, «Materials and the History of Lyavon Gmyrak’s Work on Matches in the Language», Sergei Nikolaevich Zaprudsky, «The Zvyazda Newspaper: A Historical Insight into the Literary Life of Belarus (1923–1927)», and Alexandra Mikhailovna Chernooka, «Tragic History of the Belarusian Literature of the 20th Century», among others. The section’s work was accompanied by discussions on research into the genealogy of Belarusian writers, the preservation of documents in the archives of Belarus and Poland, and the personal characteristics of the literary process. The Belarusian State Museum of Literature and Art (BSAMLI) is the largest repository of materials on Belarusian writers, so its representative’s participation in the conference was of great practical importance. At the end of the section, participants visited the Research Museum of Belarusian Art and Culture.
