«Archives for School» Campaign at the Gomel Region Public Associations Archive

On March 26, 2026, as part of an information hour dedicated to the tragic genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War, the State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region hosted an event with students from the Gomel Irininskaya Gymnasium.

During the meeting, the students learned about the difficult historical events associated with the genocide of civilians in the Gomel Region. Particular attention was paid to the «Krasny Bereg» memorial complex, which was built on the site of a children’s blood donor concentration camp.

During the meeting, archivists also organized a screening of a video from the «Ordinary Genocide. Krasny Bereg» project, which includes the memories of surviving children, former prisoners of this concentration camp.

At the end of the event, the children were given a tour of the archive and its storage facilities, during which they learned about an archive and the documents stored there.
