Archival Document Exhibition «From the Roots of the Orsha Processed Cheese Factory to the Present: 70 Years of History and Development» at the State Archives in Orsha

On March 20, 2026, the Zonal State Archives in Orsha prepared an archival document exhibition «From the Roots of the Orsha Processed Cheese Factory to the Present: 70 Years of History and Development», dedicated to the anniversary of the company’s founding.

The history of processed cheese in Belarus begins in the city of Orsha. In June 1944, the Orsha Creamery, a future cheese factory, was established, where the first Belarusian processed cheese was produced in the 1950s.

Today, it is a subsidiary production unitary enterprise, OrshaSyrZavod, which is part of the state association, Vitebsk Concern Meat and Dairy Products, in the Vitebsk Region. It is one of the leading enterprises in the Republic of Belarus for the production of processed cheese and ice cream. The enterprise accounts for 49.46% of the total processed cheese production in the region. The enterprise produces processed cheeses under the «Syrny Dvor» brand (over 40 varieties) and ice cream under the «Skazka v Ladoshke» brand (over 50 varieties)—as they say, there’s something for every taste and every budget.

The exhibition features 77 documents and photographs from the archival collection of the subsidiary production unitary enterprise, OrshaSyrZavod.

The exhibition is intended for a wide audience. Anyone is welcome to view it.
